Head of Finance

Salary: £55k-£65k (depending on experience)

Contract: Full time/permanent (would consider 4 days a week)

Location: Bournemouth (with flexible remote working)

Your Purpose

To build on our position of financial freedom, by providing key financial insights that drive 3 Sided Cube’s mission to change millions of lives for better.

The Role 

As Head of Finance, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing the accounting function, whilst guiding all strategic financial decisions at 3 Sided Cube. 

We’re continuing to grow, and you’ll help us by working closely with Directors and the Board to make a real impact on our projects. 

This isn’t a hands-off type role. You’ll be part of a small team working in a fast-paced environment, and you’ll be keen to get involved, solve problems and take on challenges, help build on the financial foundations already in place for us to expand our reach and impact.

You’ll be

• Proactively contributing to strategic decisions at 3 Sided Cube.
• Challenging us constructively to optimise processes and  performance. 
• Acting as an advisor to the Board and Directors.
• Delivering an excellent quality of accounting throughout the company in line with appropriate financial standards. 
• Taking ownership for Management reporting, Year End, Annual Budgets, P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow, ensuring accurate and effective ongoing management. 
• Overseeing existing processes such as payroll, invoicing, and reconciliation of purchases.
• Implementing processes which will support a rapidly growing company. 
• Managing legal and contractual matters with our suppliers & clients.
• Chartering an environment that ensures the integrity of financial information.
• Keeping oversight of all banking activities & payments.

• You have an appropriate accounting qualification (ACA or similar) with at least 2 years post-qualification experience. 
• A proven track record of building and championing finance teams. 
• Navigating a fast paced, ever-changing environment, with a positive approach. 
• Providing leadership skills that illustrate the values of 3 Sided Cube. 
• Working with companies overseas / foreign currency. 
• Experience of delivering systems and processes that are fundamental to scale a growing business.
• Reporting on financial performances to Directors. 
• Breadth of understanding and experience in business finances and related processes for an SME, including:
  • Bookkeeping, invoicing and purchasing
  • Setting, reporting on, and managing budgets
  • Reconciliation of bank feeds and fixed assets
  • Overseeing Payroll
  • Journals/accruals
  • Managing inter-company transactions
  • VAT returns
  • Cash-flow management
  • Year End Accounts
  • R and D claims

• Understanding the agency business model (or experience in a service-based business)
• You think about where the company is going, and can lead and direct a finance function to help 3 Sided Cube achieve its goals.
• Being approachable with other departments and confident in challenging business performance when appropriate. 
• Having that ability to create simple solutions to complex problems, and partnering with management to get results. 
• Being curious about how performance can be improved upon, and not settling for anything less. 
• An active passion for technology and all things digital!
