The British Red Cross got in touch with 3 Sided Cube as they wanted to be able to create an app that meant you were only a few taps away from being able to help someone in an emergency through learning key skills. As part of this project, it was key that all the information was on the app itself, which meant that users wouldn’t need internet connection and could access the app on the go.
The solution was a native iOS and Android app using Storm as the content management system. The first aid app covers 19 first aid skills, using an easy to learn approach so that it is accessible for anyone to use and keep their knowledge refreshed. As well as this, you can also find information on how to prepare for an emergency, both at home or while out.
Due to the success of this product and user feedback, the charity was keen to create another app that could be targeted specifically at parents to provide simple, easy-to-learn skills to help a baby or child in a first aid emergency.
Working with The British Red Cross team, we used elements of our First Aid app to develop ‘Baby and Child’, packed with useful tips, animations and videos. Both apps were created to get users engaged and expand their first aid knowledge.
Since the Baby and Child First Aid app was launched, it has had over 313,000 downloads!
Simple guides to help users work through vital information at their own pace.
To demonstrate specific skills that can be learnt.
The ability for users to test knowledge and improve their skills.
As well as signposts to further learning, you can also gain more information if needed and have the ability to book onto a first aid course.
Thankfully I have never had to use this but I do browse it and test myself every now and then. It is very easy to navigate, contains a lot of good information and lots of shortcuts so in the event of an emergency time can be saved (as well as lives).
